The goal of the Pineville Planning and Zoning Department is to respond to the questions and concerns of property owners, residents, and elected and appointed officials regarding the development and use of land. Staff for the Planning and Zoning Department works on a variety of issues; from day-to day ordinance enforcement and compliance to long-range planning goals and policies on how the community as a whole should develop. Planning and Zoning provides staff assistance to the Planning Board, Board of Adjustments, and Town Council for issues related to rezonings, zoning text amendments, subdivision regulations, variances, land use plans, and similar activities.
Questions or comments regarding the Zoning Ordinance, the Use Classification, Subdivision Ordinance, planning issues or code enforcement complaints should be directed to this department. The Planning and Zoning Department office receives calls and visitors daily asking about existing zoning, potential new development, regulations for signs, neighborhood nuisance property. Pineville's mapping department is also part of the Planning and Zoning Department. Our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you are a resident looking to put an addition or deck onto your house you can contact the County directly to receive a permit. The LUESA South Office can assist residence with the permits.

The link to Mecklenburg County POLARIS is a Web Based interactive map that provides information on all properties in Mecklenburg County. This site provides; tax information, building sizes, and other valuable information. Another helpful site is the Mecklenburg County Economic Development website. Mecklenburg County in joint partnership with the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce have developed an Economic Development GIS Mapping website to provide national businesses of interest a decision making tool with a wealth of geospatial information to help them to consider relocating their business to Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina. This interactive mapping system will also provide local business an invaluable tool for local business expansion and relocation. |
